Daily breakfast is not included by default, but it can be added during the booking process if available, or you can contact the Yes Getaways team to prioritize it. Other meals are not included. Kraków is an easy city for eating out: pierogi, żurek soup and an obwarzanek bread ring from a street cart are good places to start.

No. Airport transfers are not included, but the Yes Getaways team can add a private transfer when you book. Kraków John Paul II International Airport is about 7 mi / 11 km west of the city center. A train runs from the airport to Kraków Główny station in about 20 minutes, and taxis are available outside the terminal.

No tours are included, so you can plan the days your way. The Yes Getaways team can book the most popular ones for you before you travel, such as the Wieliczka Salt Mine, the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and guided walks of the Old Town, Wawel and Kazimierz, with hotel pick-up where available. Booking ahead matters most for Auschwitz-Birkenau and Wawel, where entry is by time slot.

The Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and Museum is in Oświęcim, about 40 mi / 65 km west of Kraków, around 1 hour 15 minutes by road. Entry is by reserved time slot and slots sell out, so book as early as you can. A guided visit of both sites takes about 3 hours 30 minutes. The Yes Getaways team can book a tour with hotel pick-up, which is the simplest way to go.

Most travelers manage it well, but it involves walking. The tourist route has about 800 steps, most of them on the way down, and roughly 2 mi / 3 km of walking; a lift brings you back up. Visits are guided only and take about 3 hours. The temperature stays around 63°F / 17°C all year, so bring a light layer. If you have mobility concerns, ask the Yes Getaways team before booking.

No car is needed. Your hotel is in the city center, and the Old Town, Wawel and Kazimierz are all walkable from the Main Market Square. For longer distances there are trams, taxis and ride-hailing apps. Day trips to Wieliczka and Auschwitz-Birkenau are easiest as tours with pick-up, which the Yes Getaways team can book.

Poland is part of the Schengen Area. U.S. and Canadian passport holders do not need a visa for stays of up to 90 days within a 180-day period. Your passport should be valid for at least six months beyond your return date. ETIAS, a pre-travel authorization for the Schengen Area, is not yet mandatory; when it starts, we will let you know in advance.

Passengers without a completed form may be denied boarding, so we recommend arriving at the airport with extra time. Requirements can change, so please check the CDC page before you travel.

Kraków is generally a safe city for visitors, including in the evening around the Old Town and Kazimierz. Take the usual care with bags and phones in busy places like the Main Market Square and on trams. Use licensed taxis or ride-hailing apps. In an emergency anywhere in Poland, dial 112. Safety conditions can change, so check your government's travel advice before you go.

Poland uses the Polish złoty (PLN), not the euro. Cards are accepted almost everywhere in Kraków, including small cafés and taxis. If a card machine or ATM offers to charge you in U.S. or Canadian dollars, choose złoty instead, as the conversion rate is usually better. Bank ATMs are easy to find in the city center.

Yes. The Yes Getaways team can add extra nights in Kraków or combine your trip with another city before you book. Warsaw is about 2 hours 30 minutes away by train, and Prague and Budapest are easy to add by flight or train. The full package price is paid at booking. The land portion of your package is refundable if cancelled at least 14 days before your travel date. Airfare is non-refundable from the moment it is issued. Travel insurance with cancellation cover is strongly recommended.
